Use of AJAX to Load Pages

hi,

it came to my mind that whatever module we use, 99% of all pages are made
using the same header and footer elements.

It could be easy to use an onclick property for menus and links by default,
and change only content and sidebar.
We'd also change Location.header to reflect the page change, to be sure that
crawling engines and favorites works.

I won't write here all the good points of this method, do you see any
downside/particularities I could have forgot?
