Empty error message is confusing
In-Portal validates every submitted form. It is possible for a developer to have a custom error message for every validation error (e.g. required, non-unique, etc.) in every field on the form.
I've recently saw a problem, that non-translated phrase caused empty error message, but since error was present it's data wasn't saved, but user wasn't seeing any error message either thinking that all is saved.
I propose, that in case of developer mistake causing error message to be empty we should throw an exception.
