Hi guys,

We need your option on the following question:

In the following task:

454: Customizable URL Endings for Mod-rewrite

INP-379 - Getting issue details... STATUS

( original discussion http://groups.google.com/group/in-portal-dev/browse_thread/thread/2912746dce829220
)

For example - my selected Url Ending is .HTML so Urls are -
http://www.jurmala.com/SVN/in-portal-5.1.x/in-bulletin/my_account/my_topics.html

However if I just go to - http://www.jurmala.com/SVN/in-portal-5.1.x/in-bulletin/my_account/my_topics/
or http://www.jurmala.com/SVN/in-portal-5.1.x/in-bulletin/my_account/my_topics
it will also load the same page.

This is where you think it might be a good idea to teach In-Portal to
auto-redirect Users (with 302 redirect) to the correct Url Endings to
make sure we don't end up with lots of Duplicate Content URLs on the
website?

However, in additional (to the same task) we have developed
functionality when you can choose the URL ending for your site with
the option to pass custom URL ending to <inp2:m_Link url_ending="/"/>
tag. This custom option gives you the ability to customize the url
ending where you want - for example list of categories can end on /
instead of selected by default .html and so on.

Here is the question:

Should we (or should not) add a new Configuration Variable (in Admin)
which will ALWAYS automatically send (by redirect with 302) user to
selected (correct) Urls Ending skipping the Custom Ending Url
described in prev. paragraph?

Note: this variable can be turned off by default.

Answer: Yes or No (comments welcome)
