Mixed display of search results [5.3.0-B1]

The In-Portal features ability to search for user entered data. This can be done by entering search keyword and pressing enter in search sidebox on the left:

Currently search results are grouped by item type (e.g. links & articles are shown in separate lists). This is done like so, because at a time this was the easiest way to do this.

Solution

Allow for combined list of results, where all items (regardless of their type) will be sorted by relevance. This is implemented on http://www.intechnic.com/ (combined list of blogs and pages) and http://www.artistview.com/ (combined list of users, files, albums, etc.) websites. It would be great if this functionality can be part of base In-Portal package.
