task we've changed default user registration mode to "by e-mail" (from "by username") and "Username" field became non-required. However we've forgot to update "Interface Presets" (located in "/admin/system_presets/" folder) and in "simple" interface preset the "Username" field is still set as required by default.username_field_require_simple_preset_fix.patch
